Billy Shore

Executive Chair

Billy Shore is the founder and executive chair of Share Our Strength, the parent organization for the No Kid Hungry campaign. Since founding Share Our Strength in 1984 with his sister Debbie, Billy has led the organization in raising more than $1 billion to fight hunger and poverty, and has won the support of national leaders in business, government, health and education, sports and entertainment.

Billy is also the chair of Community Wealth Partners, Share Our Strength’s for-profit consulting firm which provides strategic consulting to help leaders and communities solve social problems.

Before founding Share Our Strength, Billy served on the senatorial and presidential campaign staffs for former U.S. Senator Gary Hart and as chief of staff to former U.S. Senator Robert Kerrey. In 2014, congressional leaders appointed him to the National Commission on Hunger, tasked with finding innovative ways to end hunger in America.

In addition to his work with Share Our Strength, Billy is a leading voice in the national conversation on hunger and poverty. He is the author of four books focused on social change, including “Revolution of the Heart” (Riverhead Press, 1995), “The Cathedral Within” (Random House, 1999), “The Light of Conscience” (Random House, 2004) and most recently, “The Imaginations of Unreasonable Men” (Public Affairs, 2010). He also hosts Add Passion and Stir, a weekly podcast that brings together high-profile chefs and change-makers to talk about the central role food plays in social justice.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Billy earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pennsylvania and his law degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He has been an adjunct professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business and an advisor at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. From 2001 to 2011, he served as a director of The Timberland Company.

Debbie Shore

Co-Founder

Debbie Shore, who co-founded Share Our Strength with her brother Billy, oversees the organization’s long-term planning and strategy. Debbie has led the development and launch of many of the organization’s signature fundraising platforms, including Taste of the Nation, Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, Chefs Cycle, and Friendsgiving.

Since 2014, Debbie has directed the organization’s revenue innovation lab, providing vision and overseeing efforts to create, test and launch diverse new revenue streams, such as Chefs Cycle, an annual cycling event for chefs and culinary professionals to raise funds and awareness for No Kid Hungry.

Prior to starting Share Our Strength, Shore was a political organizer and fundraiser for former U.S. Senator Gary Hart’s (D-Colorado) presidential campaign.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa., Debbie earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy from Ohio University. She has lived, studied and traveled extensively in Mexico, and has one daughter, Sofia.

Anne Filipic

Chief Executive Officer

Over the past twenty years, Anne Filipic has led consequential civic, philanthropic, and political efforts that have helped transform the nation. Most recently, she served as Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Management and Administration and the Office of Administration. In this role, Anne was responsible for building and maintaining the most diverse staff in White House history.

Prior to joining the White House, Anne was the Chief Program Officer at the Obama Foundation, where she developed global programs focused on civic engagement and leadership development. She also oversaw the integration of two major initiatives, My Brother’s Keeper and The Girls Opportunity Alliance, into the Obama Foundation.

Previously, Anne led Enroll America, a national healthcare coalition designed to support Americans in enrolling in and retaining healthcare coverage made available through the Affordable Care Act. Enroll America’s work supported a net increase of over 20 million Americans gaining healthcare coverage in under four years. In recognition of Enroll America’s impact, Anne was named one of the “Top 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare magazine.

Anne has also served as Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement and Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She started her career in electoral campaigns and advocacy, including holding leadership roles on President Obama’s 2008 campaign and serving as Field Director for the Obama Iowa caucus campaign.

Originally from Ohio, Anne is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Carlos, and their three young children.

Adrienne Allen

Managing Director, No Kid Hungry Campaigns and Field Operations

Adrienne Allen serves as the managing director for the No Kid Hungry campaign’s field operations. In her role, she is responsible for leading the planning, implementation and evaluation of our No Kid Hungry campaign in specific states across the nation.

During her 12 years with Share Our Strength, Adrienne has served on both the program and fundraising teams. She oversaw the implementation and compliance of a five-year, $20 million grant through the federal Social Innovation Fund and led the fundraising and operations efforts for many of No Kid Hungry’s culinary events.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Adrienne worked in international public health at John Snow, Inc. on a United States Agency for International Development project.

A Florida native, Adrienne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida. She also received a Master of Public Administration degree from the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration at the George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. Adrienne lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and two children.

Karen Barr

Managing Director, Individual Giving

Karen serves as Managing Director, Individual Giving. In her role as Managing Director, Karen develops and directs strategies to help Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign reach mission-critical revenue targets through digital and offline, DRTV, face-to-face, sustainer and mid-level.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2023, Karen served as Managing Director, Supporter Experience at Save the Children. She is very active in the non-profit community and is a frequent speaker at conferences in the areas of direct response and mid-level.

Karen has over 25 years of experience and her background includes marketing strategy, fundraising, communications/branding, project management, budget management and development, program/campaign development & optimization and fundraising analysis. Karen also has extensive experience developing and growing direct response and mid-level programs across various channels/sources and leading successful teams.

Karen lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter Kandace.

Briana Webster Campbell

Managing Director, Center for Best Practices

Briana oversees the Center for Best Practices' initiatives related to training and technical assistance. She manages a team of child nutrition experts who serve as the organization’s “go-to” on the federal nutrition programs, such as school breakfast, summer meals and SNAP. Briana’s nearly two decade career has been spent working at mission-driven organizations that strive to make our country a more equitable and just place for all. Prior to joining No Kid Hungry in 2016, Briana worked on school health initiatives at HealthCorps and the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. Before that, she spearheaded a diabetes and obesity prevention program for African-American men at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA and she also served as the first Wellstone Fellow for Social Justice at Families USA. Briana received her B.S. in Public Health from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (home of the TarHeels). In her spare time, she serves as President of the Kenya Javon Webster Memorial Scholarship, volunteers in her local community and enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her husband and two young sons. Briana’s commitment to social justice runs deep and drives her commitment to ensuring that no kid goes hungry.

Julie Chen

SVP, General Counsel & Secretary

Julie Chen is SVP of General Counsel & Secretary at Share Our Strength. In her role, Julie is responsible for all legal matters affecting Share Our Strength including in the areas of advocacy, fundraising, programs, tax, employment, contracts, risk and governance, among others.

Over her 30 years of experience, Julie has counseled and represented for-profit and nonprofit organizations in her many positions from partner of a major law firm to Chief Legal Officer of the US Tennis Association, as well as in various roles with Verizon and the Smithsonian Institution.

Julie graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Irvine and cum laude from Michigan Law School. She is an avid tennis fan and lives in Washington DC with her husband and daughters.

Diane Clifford

Senior Vice President, Constituent Development and Operations

Diane serves as senior vice president of constituent development and operations and is responsible for strategic planning, campaign development and revenue growth for the No Kid Hungry campaign through digital and offline, DRTV, face-to-face, sustainer, mid-level, planned giving, peer-to-peer and stream audiences and channels. She also oversees operational support for all fundraising teams through effective deployment of CRM and fundraising technology, data and analytics, revenue operations and donor services. Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2016, Diane served as Vice President of Marketing and Constituent Development at National Audubon Society and was a senior member of marketing and fundraising teams at Defenders of Wildlife, National Wildlife Federation and National Parks Conservation Association.

With more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, her background includes Campaign Development, Membership, Advocacy, Donor Retention and Loyalty, Multi-channel Marketing, Fundraising Technology and Marketing Research and Analytics.

A native of Pennsylvania, Diane earned a degree in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University and currently resides in Northern Virginia.

Lisa Davis

Senior Vice President, No Kid Hungry Campaign

Lisa Davis serves as Senior Vice President of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing and implementing results-driven strategies that leverage partnerships, programmatic expertise, advocacy and communications to increase participation in federal nutrition programs and build momentum toward ending childhood hunger.

Prior to joining No Kid Hungry in 2016, Lisa oversaw government relations and advocacy at Feeding America. Under her leadership, the team achieved numerous regulatory and legislative victories, increased member food bank engagement in advocacy by more than 40 percent and doubled Feeding America’s online advocacy program.

Her other experience includes leading AARP’s member education strategies on major issues and directing issue advocacy campaigns on financial security and health care reform and working for former Congressman Pat Williams of Montana. Lisa serves on the boards of Convergence Center for Policy Resolution, Manna Food Center and the Alliance to End Hunger.

A native Montanan, Lisa received her J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and French from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota. She lives with her husband, four children, dog and a very curmudgeonly cat in Maryland.

Elliott Gaskins

Acting Chief Resource Development and Growth Officer

As acting chief resource development and growth officer at Share Our Strength, Elliott oversees a team across the country focused on securing major and foundation gifts, building the vision and leading a team that executes fundraising dinners for No Kid Hungry Dinner and other cultivation events, as well as building multi-year plans and strategies to significantly grow revenue.

For more than two decades Elliott has worked at some of the premier nonprofit institutions in the country including The Aspen Institute, The Alzheimer’s Association, The Nature Conservancy, and America's Promise Alliance.  During his tenure at these organizations he raised millions of dollars and executed multi-year campaigns, led national special events, created, designed and implemented comprehensive strategic plans and led critical work on diversity, equity and inclusion.

A proud native of Philadelphia, PA., Elliott is a graduate of Temple University where he excelled as a scholar and an all-American athlete.  A two-time Olympic Trials competitor, national championship finalist and former American record holder - Elliott has represented the United States as a member of the Track and Field World Championships.

A proud father and husband, Elliott resides in Virginia with his wife, three kids and two Australian Shepherds.

Suzanne Haggerty

Managing Director, Fundraising Technology and Operations

Suzanne Haggerty (she/her) serves as Managing Director, Fundraising Technology and Operations. In her role as Managing Director, Suzanne works closely with the Revenue Growth and Development department and leadership to provide strategic direction to ensure the successful implementation and management of cross-departmental processes, tools, metrics, initiatives, and technology. A change manager at heart with a passion for data driven results, Suzanne works to promote effective transitions throughout RD&G by applying industry-best-practice concepts and methods to ensure sustainable change that meets key business objectives. Suzanne oversees five critical functions: fundraising CRM and ECRM technology products, analytics, application support and training, revenue operations, and supporter services.

Suzanne has over 25 Years of non-profit experience. She started her non-profit career at Project Bread – The Walk for Hunger as Database Manager. Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Suzanne was Director of Software Development at Habitat for Humanity International, served as Vice President, Data Services at NGP Van-Every Action and oversaw data management at Alzheimer’s Association.

Suzanne grew up in the Boston area where she earned her degree at Northeastern University. She currently lives outside Boston in Kingston, Massachusetts where she serves on the Board of the Recreation Commission as well as Community Preservation Commission. Recently Suzanne and her family volunteered their weekends at a Habitat for Humanity build in their neighborhood. She enjoys time with her husband, two teenage sons, and rescue pups. Her family loves to travel and spend time at the beach or on the water.

Leigh Ann Edwards Hall

Managing Director, Strategic Fundraising & Impact

Leigh Ann Edwards Hall, MPH, RDN, serves as the national managing director for the Cooking Matters campaign. In her role, she develops and directs strategy and implementation plans for Share Our Strength’s food skills education work nationwide. In her 14 years with the organization, Leigh Ann has been involved in every facet of advancing Cooking Matters, from managing the development and revision of curricula, directly training partners, developing and managing related grant programs and growing our network of partners.

Before joining Share Our Strength in 2006, Leigh Ann held positions with the public affairs firm N Chapman Associates, Inc. and the business consulting firm Accenture LLP. Leigh Ann, a registered dietitian, obtained a Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communications from North Carolina State University.

She lives in Charlotte, N.C. with her husband and two young daughters.

Andrea Hoefling

Managing Director, Development Operations

Andrea Hoefling serves as Managing Director of Development Operations, building and managing the systems and operations to support the organization’s growing Major and Principal gifts program. Andrea is working to enhance the major gift performance and revenue by overseeing strong data systems, department operations, financial forecasting and a growing research and prospect development program. Prior to serving in this role, she was the Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives for Share Our Strength.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2015, Andrea served as Deputy National Finance Director for Senate Majority PAC.  There she oversaw national fundraising for principal and transformational gifts to support political candidates.  Before that, Andrea worked for both Senate candidates and party committees with their fundraising and event efforts.

Andrea has nearly 20 years of experience in fundraising, relationship building and revenue development.  Andrea grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.  She also received her Master of Science in Management from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.  Andrea lives in Severna Park, Maryland with her husband, two children and rescue pup.

Jeetu Jodhpurkar

Managing Director, International Strategy

Jeetu Jodhpurkar, the Managing Director of Share Our Strength’s international strategy, is a seasoned senior leader deeply experienced in the corporate and philanthropic sectors, with C-level positions held for over 20 years of his career.

Before joining Share Our Strength, Jeetu served as the Chief Operating Officer at Community Wealth Partners overseeing all financial and operational aspects of the Washington DC-based social sector management consulting firm with a national reach.  Jeetu also held the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President positions at Washington Gas Energy Systems growing the $6M regional subsidiary of Wall Street-traded WGL Holdings to over $100M with expanding renewable energy presence in over 20 states across the US.  After nearly 15 years at WGL and 5 years in other large corporations such as Vodafone and United Airlines prior to that, Jeetu decided to focus the rest of his professional career exclusively in the non-profit space.

Following his engineering education in India, Jeetu went to Virginia Tech for graduate studies and also received a master’s degree in engineering management from The Catholic University of America in Washington DC.  He completed his Executive Program in Strategic Leadership from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in 2010.  Jeetu is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional, is a graduate of Leadership Greater Washington’s Class of 2012 and served on the Board and Audit and Finance Committee of the California-based Taproot Foundation, among other affiliations.

Jeetu gratefully values his current role as a fortunate opportunity to fully integrate his professional work with his personal values, to live his life’s purpose; and is impassioned to expand the bold vision of “school meals without borders” in Share Our Strength’s fight against child hunger.  Jeetu has been living in Northern Virginia for over 30 years with his wife Madhavi who also works in the global non-profit space.  Their two children – daughter, Mohini; and son, Kanha – are both in college.  Jeetu and Madhavi run a small non-profit on the side form their own home and pocket, spreading spirituality of pure love through the practice of meditation every weekend!

Rich Kostro

Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer

Rich Kostro, Chief Information Officer at Share Our Strength, is a technology and data strategy expert with almost 20 years of experience in leading change in large organizations.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Rich served as a Director under the Chief Information Security Officer at Capital One, where he led multiple efforts in implementing strategic initiatives, improving budget management, and building talent pipelines. Rich also spent nearly 15 years as a strategic consultant, working with both large and small consulting firms, and built an independent consulting practice that provided services to Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) at the FBI, the Federal Communications Commission, and the Smithsonian Institutes, as well as a number of private sector firms. Rich also spent two years as a political appointee in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and continues to serve as an Army Reserve Officer, with two combat deployments and a successful record of commanding Soldiers in both State-side and overseas environments. He earned his BA from Georgetown University and his MBA from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.

Rich has a wife, Stephanie, two daughters, Catherine and Sarah, and considers himself an avid (although lately couch-bound) adventurer. Of his many whimsical adventures, Rich is most proud of having thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail (from Georgia to Maine) and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Jillien Meier

Managing Director, Program Partnerships and Campaign Strategy

Jillien Meier serves as the managing director for the No Kid Hungry campaign’s national partnerships and strategy development. In her role, she is responsible for developing and leading a national partnerships strategy to further Share Our Strength’s programmatic objectives of expanded access and participation in federal child nutrition programs and increased family economic opportunity. Jillien works to center communities and racial equity in the design of federal nutrition programs, with an emphasis on supporting national, state, and local organizations supporting immigrant families.

During her 11 years with Share Our Strength, Jillien has served as a programmatic expert in the No Kid Hungry Center for Best Practices, as well as director of a portfolio of No Kid Hungry campaigns across the nation.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Jillien worked in social policy at the Annie E. Casey Foundation, focusing on family economic success.

Jillien earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government Relations as well as a Master of Public Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. Jillien lives in Bethesda, Maryland with her husband and twin boys.

Brian Minter

Managing Director, Brand and Marketing

Marley Rave

Managing Director, Major Gifts

Marley Rave serves as Managing Director of Major Gifts for Share Our Strength, overseeing a team of fundraisers across the country focused on securing major, principle and transformational gifts. In this role, she leads the strategic movement of donor relationships, prospect development and multi-year fundraising plans to grow revenue to further advance the organization's goals and mission.

Before joining Share Our Strength, Marley worked for Autism Speaks for eight years serving as the Executive Director of the National Capital Area Chapter and the National Director of Individual Relations and Philanthropy. Prior to Autism Speaks, she held several leadership roles in development and communications at Meals On Wheels Association of America and the National Foundation to End Senior Hunger. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with a Masters in Public Administration and Non-Profit Management from American University and a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology from Ohio University.

An avid runner, cyclist and triathlete, Marley lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with her husband, Jeff, and two children, Hazel and Jude.

Stacy Roth

Senior Vice President, Organizational Planning and Strategy

Stacy Roth serves as Senior Vice President, Organizational Planning and Strategy. In this role, Stacy leads organizational annual and long-term planning working closely with Share Our Strength’s President and CFO. She also oversees additional strategy and operational functions and works closely with program team leadership on program strategy and planning.

Stacy began her career with Share Our Strength in 2008 as a member of Share Our Strength’s Corporate Partnerships team, before shifting into her current function in 2013. Prior to working at Share Our Strength, Stacy worked in marketing at Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and for the London Broncos rugby team in London, England.

Raised in Hawaii and currently living in the District of Columbia, Stacy has a Masters of Business Administration from the McDonough School at Georgetown University and B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Pomona College in Claremont, CA.

Tracee Sanders

Managing Director, Human Resources

Tracee Sanders serves as the managing director of human resources, responsible for providing professional human resources services and consultation for all Share Our Strength campaigns and teams.  She is also responsible for managing the administration of all organizational human resources initiatives, including training and development, employee relations, budget management, recruitment, human resources compliance, performance management, compensation, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and policy development and administration.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2012, Tracee served as Vice President, Operations for NuCoreVision, Inc., a minority-owned federal government contracting company.  While working for this company she was responsible for overseeing the company’s human resources functions and managed several federal government contracts providing services in a wide variety of areas including customer service and cyber security.

Tracee has 20 years of human resources generalist experience for both for-profit and nonprofit organizations.  She is a member of The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and holds professional certification designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute (PHR).  She received her bachelor’s degree from Hampton University.

Tracee lives in Washington, DC with her husband and two children.  She is passionate about and devoted to all causes related to children.

Chuck Scofield

Executive Vice President

Chuck Scofield is the Executive Vice President, overseeing the organization’s programmatic efforts. He is responsible for developing and implementing the long-term strategy for both the nutrition “access” and “education” components of No Kid Hungry.

Chuck helps define and manage the organization’s role and relationships at the federal, state, and local levels – increasing its profile among key influencers, measuring organizational impact, and fostering inter-departmental collaboration around Share Our Strength’s organizational goals.

Previously, Chuck oversaw corporate partnerships and cause marketing programs for the organization, as well as donor and foundation development. Among the more than 40 national companies supporting the No Kid Hungry campaign are Citi, Arby’s, Food Network, JCPenney, Walmart, and Williams-Sonoma.

Chuck began his career with Share Our Strength in 1996 as its Executive Assistant, and has served as the organization’s Development Manager and Director before becoming Executive Vice President.

A native of Houston, Texas, Chuck graduated with honors from Davidson College. He is a board member of The Opportunity Fund, and Students for International Medical Action. He lives with his family of four in Maryland.

Allison Shuffield

Managing Director, Corporate Partnerships

Allison Shuffield is Managing Director, Corporate Partnerships at Share Our Strength, the non-profit organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign, where she leads a team to secure and manage the organization’s corporate relationships. Prior to Share Our Strength, Allison honed her corporate social responsibility and cause marketing prowess at Global Action for Children and the American Red Cross. Allison is a graduate of Florida State University, a Miami, FL native, and now calls Washington, DC home. Allison and her husband Andrew became parents in 2019 to triplets (a boy and two girls), who keep them constantly moving!

Nefertiri Sickout

Senior Vice President for EDI

Nefertiri Sickout serves as Senior Vice President for EDI, providing organization-wide leadership to set actionable strategies and measures to further equity, diversity, and inclusion in Share Our Strength’s culture, operations, and outcomes. In partnership with executive leaders, Human Resources, and EDI committees, Nefertiri works to both broaden and deepen the organization’s EDI efforts to better serve all historically marginalized communities and ensure a workplace where all team members learn, advance, and thrive to their fullest potential.

Most recently, Nefertiri served as the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for the Mayor’s Office, City of Philadelphia, where she established racial equity as an explicit governing principle through which City departments and agencies assessed and improved how their operations impacted all Philadelphians while centering communities living at the margins. She also supported the strategic efforts of the Mayor’s Office of LGBT Affairs, Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities, and Office of Economic Opportunity.

As a longstanding advocate of racial and social justice, Nefertiri brings substantial experience in advancing equitable outcomes for children and families through community-based nonprofit experience and legal advocacy as a former attorney at Pepper Hamilton LLP. Her educational background includes a BA in psychology from Clark Atlanta University; an MA in infant special education from George Washington University; an MA in developmental psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University; and a law degree from Villanova University School of Law.

Lillian Singh

Senior Vice President, Family Economic Opportunity

Lillian D. Singh serves as Senior Vice President of Family Economic Opportunity for Share Our Strength. In this role, Lillian leads the organization’s initiative to address structural inequities that create, sustain, and perpetuate food insecurity and persistent poverty for families.

For nearly two decades, Lillian has advanced racial economic analysis, program design solutions, grassroots capacity-building models, and power-building approaches to bridge the racial wealth divide. Before joining Share Our Strength, Lillian worked at Prosperity Now, serving as Vice President for Programs and Racial Wealth Equity. She provided vision and management accountability to a multidisciplinary staff and workstreams, advancing economic mobility strategies for families and communities.

Her other experience includes spearheading financial inclusion campaigns during her tenure at the NAACP as the National Director of Economic Strategic Partnerships and Development, supporting state and local affiliates across the country.

A Mississippi native but raised in Los Angeles, Lillian earned her undergraduate degree in Urban Planning and Masters of Arts in Sociology, both from Stanford University. She has received numerous fellowships and honors, including the Aspen Institute Civil Society Fellow and the Independent Sector American Express NGen Fellow. Lillian lives in Bowie, Maryland, with her husband.

Courtney Smith

Senior Vice President, No Kid Hungry Center for Best Practices

As the Senior Vice President of the No Kid Hungry Center for Best Practices, Courtney oversees innovation, research, policy analysis, technical assistance and product development to support efforts to end childhood hunger across the country. She has extensive experience working on programs and policies to improve the well-being of low-income families and children.

Before joining Share Our Strength in 2008, Courtney was a senior policy analyst at the National Governors Association, where she provided technical assistance and consulting services to governors on a range of poverty and human services issues. Her other experience includes working with Berkeley Policy Associates, the Public Policy Institute of California, the Literacy Assistance Center of New York City and the Commission to Educate Girls in Guatemala.

Courtney has a Master in Public Policy from the University of California at Berkeley and a B.A. in English Literature and Women’s Studies from Grinnell College.

Pamela Taylor

Senior Vice President & Chief Communications and Marketing Officer

Pamela Taylor is the Senior Vice President & Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for Share Our Strength, leading all of the internal and external communications functions for the organization. She also oversees the marketing and branding assets for the marquee campaigns – No Kid Hungry and Cooking Matters.

Pamela is an executive-level strategist with more than 20 years’ experience in developing and leading fully-integrated, national marketing and communications initiatives under several leadership roles at Edelman, Ogilvy Worldwide and Porter Novelli. She has a deep experience in leading behavior-change and public health campaigns for government and private sector clients, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at NIH, US Department of Agriculture, Merck, and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.

Pamela was formerly a Senior Director of Strategy at the Partnership for a Healthier America, the non-profit supporting former First Lady, Mrs. Obama’s Let’s Move campaign. She has also served a consultant for many organizations to lead clients through diversity, inclusion and equity strategies; and organizational transformation.

Pamela serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Paul Public Charter School and is the chairperson of the Marketing, Public Relations and Development committee. She lives in Washington, DC and is an avid sports fan.

Pamela earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hampton University.

Laura Washburn

Managing Director of Strategic Communications

Laura Washburn serves as Managing Director of Strategic Communications for Share Our Strength. She oversees the organization’s strategy to highlight its work in the media through public affairs, consumer engagement and corporate partnerships.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2011, Laura developed and ran strategic communications campaigns for domestic and international clients at Washington, DC-based public affairs firm CLS & Associates. Her career started on Capitol Hill where she worked as a speechwriter and legislative correspondent, and she has worked for elected officials at the state and local levels.

Laura holds a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University and lives in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband and their four children.

Serena Williams

Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer

Serena Williams serves as the Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer, overseeing all of the talent management functions for the organization including leading the Human Resources and Operations teams, staff engagement and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2011, Serena served as Associate Director, Human Resources for the Human Rights Campaign where she led the creation of the organization’s first full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process and managed several talent functions during her six years with the organization.

Serena has 17 years of Human Resources generalist experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She is a member of multiple organizations, including: The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM); World at Work; and the Human Resources Association of the National Capitol Area (HRA-NCA). She also holds senior certification designations from SHRM (SHRM-SCP) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (SPHR). Serena also serves as Adjunct Professor at Prince George’s Community College’s School for Workforce Development & Continuing Education.

Serena earned a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Catholic University and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Women’s Studies from Georgetown University.

Serena is a native of the Bronx, New York and her community engagements include work with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated. She resides in Washington, DC with her husband and two sons.

Kelleen Zubick

Managing Director, Early Childhood & Health Systems

Kelleen Zubick serves as Managing Director, Early Childhood and Health Systems for Share Our Strength, a national organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty.  In this role, she oversees the strategic partnerships and development of initiatives that strengthen the ability of early childhood and health systems to connect low-income children and their families with nutrition assistance, especially SNAP and WIC.  Kelleen expresses values for equity, diversity and inclusion though supporting team members to utilize community involved design, centering equity, and ensuring the voices and needs of parents/caregivers and community are an integral part of programmatic design and practices.

During her 10 years with Share Our Strength, Kelleen has also served as the Senior Director, Health Systems and the Colorado Director for Cooking Matters, a nutrition and food skills education program. Additional highlights of her service have included supporting Share Our Strength’s Conversations on Food Justice series and serving on the Program Team’s EDI Committee.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength, Kelleen was co-founder and Principal Consultant for Mission Spark, a social impact consulting group partnering with private foundations, nonprofits, and government agencies on strategy, initiative development and on evaluation approaches. In this capacity, Kelleen developed strategies for summer food access, focusing on removing barriers for low-income families and migrants in rural Colorado.  She also developed a statewide peer mentor program in agritourism for the Colorado Office of Economic Development, and, as Director of Consulting for Community Resource Center, she oversaw Colorado Rural Philanthropy Days, a statewide program focused on increasing philanthropic equity and impact.

Under CO Governor Hickenlooper’s administration, Kelleen was a gubernatorial appointee to the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council, and she also served as an inaugural Advisory Council Member for Colorado’s Double UP Food Bucks program.  As part of expression of her personal passion for food, Kelleen has served as Vice President for the Les Dames d’Escoffier, Colorado Chapter.  She has also been the Co-Chair of The Root Cause Coalition’s Food Security working group and Treasurer for Feet Forward, a peer-led nonprofit serving the unhoused in Boulder County, CO.

Kelleen has a BA in Child Development and English from Tufts University and an MFA from Arizona State University. Kelleen lives in Colorado but grew up in Brazil where her family distributed food to under-resourced families every day, and this experience fuels her passion to address hunger and food access in the US.

An honors graduate of Harvard College with a degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics, Joanne left a career as a management consultant to enter the world of professional cooking. She is the chef and co-owner of Flour Bakery + Café, with eight locations in the Boston area, and Myers + Chang along with her husband and business partner Christopher Myers. She is the winner of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Baker in 2016. She is also the author of five cookbooks: Flour, Spectacular Recipes from Boston's Flour Bakery+Cafe; Flour, too: Indispensable Recipes for the Café’s Most Loved Sweets & Savories; Baking with Less Sugar; Myers+Chang at Home; and Pastry Love, a Baker's Journal of Favorite Recipes.

Jimmy Chen

Founder & CEO, Propel

Jimmy Chen is the Founder and CEO of Propel, creators of the Providers app, which is used by over 5 million Americans to manage their SNAP benefits and banking. Propel was founded through a fellowship at the Robin Hood Foundation, and has raised over $80m in venture capital funding from investors including the Financial Health Network, Andreessen Horowitz, Kleiner Perkins, Kevin Durant, and Serena Williams. In addition to his work at Propel, Jimmy is Vice Chair of Technology at the eGovernment Payments Council (an industry task force around the future of government payments), he was an advisor to President Biden's Tech Transition Committee, and he has testified in front of Congress on the topic of modernizing America's safety net. Prior to Propel, Jimmy was a Product Manager at LinkedIn and Facebook and studied Symbolic Systems at Stanford University.

Outside of work, Jimmy is a competitive ultimate frisbee player, a diehard fan of Kansas City sports, and an aspiring word game geek. Jimmy is based in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife and their dog.

Dr. Maribel Garcia, EdD

Dr. Maribel Garcia is a product of El Monte City Schools having attended Columbia School and graduated from El Monte High School. Armed with a passion for educating and empowering El Monte youth, Dr. Garcia embarked on her teaching career in 1998 at the very school she attended – Columbia School. Aiming to effect greater change on behalf of students in 2008, Dr. Garcia began her service as an administrator.   In 2013, she was appointed as Superintendent. Dr. Garcia attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership. She is an active member of the El Monte community, serving on boards and supports organizations that promote quality of life, access to resources, and equitable opportunities for all children. Dr. Garcia enjoys traveling, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Renee Grisham

Renee Grisham is involved in community through the family foundation which supports efforts assisting women, housing, social justice, education, and the environment.  As a part of education, hunger is a powerful need and one strongly supported by the Oakwood Foundation.

Renee serves on the board of the Presidential Precinct, the UNC Press Advancement Council, and Carolina Performing Arts.  She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina. An avid fan of ACC basketball, she travels between Charlottesville and Chapel Hill watching UNC and UVA games.

Kimberly Johnson

Chief Operating Officer, T. Rowe Price

Kimberly H. Johnson is currently the Chief Operating Officer at T. Rowe Price.

Prior to that, Ms. Johnson was Fannie Mae's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting to the President. Ms. Johnson was responsible for leading technology, data, enterprise models, operations, the enterprise program management office, and resiliency. This unified set of enterprise shared services was central to supporting the execution of Fannie Mae's unified business strategy.

Ms. Johnson was also a member of the Management Committee, Fannie Mae's leadership team. As COO, she was charged with continuing the innovation work already underway throughout the company. Ms. Johnson partnered closely with business units and the enterprise innovation team to focus resources on innovations that had the potential to enhance the company's business model, support the execution of strategy, and evolve the housing finance system for the better.

Previously, Ms. Johnson served as Fannie Mae's Chief Risk Officer until March 2018. Prior to that, Ms. Johnson held several other key leadership positions, including Deputy Chief Risk Officer, Multifamily Capital Markets and Pricing Officer, and Vice President for Credit Risk.

Before joining Fannie Mae in 2006, Ms. Johnson was a Director at Credit Suisse. Earlier, she was a U.S. Equity Trader at D.E. Shaw & Co.

Winnie Lerner

Winnie Lerner is the Chief Executive Officer of FGS Global for North America. Michael McAfee

President and CEO, PolicyLink

Dr. Michael McAfee became President and CEO of PolicyLink in 2018, seven years after becoming the inaugural director of the Promise Neighborhoods Institute at PolicyLink. His results-driven leadership, depth of knowledge about building and sustaining an organization, and devotion to serving the nation’s most underserved populations made him the obvious choice to lead the 20-year-old PolicyLink as Angela Glover Blackwell transitioned to founder in residence.

During his time at PolicyLink, Michael has played a leadership role in securing Promise Neighborhoods as a permanent federal program, led efforts to improve outcomes for more than 300,000 children, and facilitated the investment of billions of dollars in neighborhoods of concentrated poverty. He is the catalyst for a new and growing body of work — corporate racial equity — which includes the first comprehensive tool to guide private-sector companies in assessing and actively promoting equity in every aspect of their company’s value chain. Michael carries forward the legacy to realize the promise of equity — just and fair inclusion into a society in which all can participate, prosper, and reach their full potential.

Michael also understands the urgency of now. The nation is rapidly becoming a majority people of color. In cities and towns across the country many people are embracing the concept of equity and intent on achieving racial and economic equity for all. At the same time, as the word is used more, the concept of equity is in danger of becoming diluted, just another catchphrase of civil society, leaving the true promise of racial and economic inclusion unrealized. Michael is determined that this will not happen.

Michael is ensuring equity does not become watered down. He is turning movement leaders’ eyes toward redesigning the “rules of the game” so that all people in America — particularly those who face the burdens of structural racism — participate in a just society, live in a healthy community of opportunity, and prosper in an equitable economy. He is achieving this by enacting liberating public policies targeted to the 100 million people living in or near poverty, the majority of whom are people of color.

His legacy will lie in his efforts to stand in transformative solidarity with others, collectively charting a course to Win on Equity. He is building a well-planned, well-coordinated, well-executed, and sustained campaign that frees America’s democracy from the oppressive blend of patriarchy, capitalism, and racism.

Before joining PolicyLink, Michael served as senior community planning and development representative in the Chicago Regional Office of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). While at HUD, he managed a $450 million housing, community, and economic development portfolio where he partnered with local leaders to create more than 3,000 units of affordable housing and 5,000 jobs and to ensure access to social services for more than 200,000 families. Before his public service, Michael served as the director of community leadership for The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and Affiliated Trusts. He was instrumental in positioning the organization to raise $121 million from individual donors, an accomplishment recognized by the Chronicle of Philanthropy for receiving more contributions than any community foundation in America. Michael’s commitment to the needs of people of color and those living in poverty extends to his work on the boards of Independent Sector, North Lawndale Employment Network, REI, Strive Together, and Sweet Beginnings, LLC, each of which is committed to creating opportunity for those among the 100 million economically insecure people in America.

Previously, Michael served in the United States Army and as Dean's Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He earned his Doctor of Education in human and organizational learning from George Washington University and completed Harvard University's Executive Program in Public Management.

He is a sought-after speaker on community and economic development, leadership, organizational development, racial equity, and youth development. Regina Montoya is the CEO and Chairperson of Regina T. Montoya, PLLC, and the Executive Director of the Tricolor Foundation.
Regina is a Commissioner on President Biden’s Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics. Previously, she served in the White House as an Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, and she was nominated to serve as a U.S. Representative to the 53rd Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations. Regina is a former General Counsel at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. In addition, she co-chaired the Dallas Mayor’s Task Force on Poverty.

A leader in the nonprofit community, Regina is the President and board member of the Texas Hispanic Policy Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of the Boards of Directors of the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), Foreign Policy for America, Every Texan, National Development Council, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Society, Inc. (Chair-elect of the Board), the Dallas Education Foundation and the Dallas College Foundation.

Regina earned her B.A. from Wellesley College, where she is a Trustee Emerita, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Donna Morea

Donna Morea is the retired President of CGI Technologies and Solutions (GIB), a role in which she led CGI’s multi-billion dollar software and services in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Her clients included many of the world’s largest and most complex organizations in financial services; healthcare; telecommunications and government. She currently serves as an independent director on public and private corporate boards, as well as in the not-for profit sector. Donna is an Independent Director of SAIC, and an Independent Director of SunTrust Banks, Inc. (STI). She also served on the Board of Directors of CGI, one of the largest global independent technology firms. In 2015, she was elected a Trustee of the Inova Health System. Dr. Steven Narang

Steve Narang, MD, MHCM, is President of Inova Fairfax Medical Campus and serves as President, Inova Pediatric Service Line.
A pediatrician, Steve joined Inova from Banner Health in Arizona, where he served as CEO of Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix since 2013. Steve is a physician executive whose experience leading a complex healthcare organization presents a strong foundation for his role at Inova. He has improved patient quality and safety outcomes while increasing physician satisfaction and alignment during his tenure as CEO.

Prior to Banner Health, Steve was Medical Director at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

A graduate of Northwestern University Medical School, Steve served his residency in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He has also earned a Master’s degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University.

Jeanne Newman

Most recently, Chip was the Executive Vice President of Operations for Red Lobster and an Officer of the company. As the senior leader of all operating functions, Chip was responsible for in-restaurant execution, P&L’s, and driving strategy to maximize the guest experience and EBITDA growth for 677 U.S. restaurants, located in 45 states, and 27 restaurants in Canada with average unit sales of $3.3M and $2.4B systemwide.

Previously, Chip was Senior Vice President of Enterprise Operations for Darden, the world’s largest full-service restaurant operating company. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Red Lobster’s Liberty Division where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of nearly 100 restaurants located in seven states and the District of Columbia. Chip initially joined Darden as the Director of Revitalia for Olive Garden’s existing restaurants. Revitalia was part of a system-wide repositioning of the brand.

Chip spent two years away from Darden when he served as Chief Operating Officer for Legal Sea Foods, Inc. in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, he managed all operations for the family-owned group’s 31 restaurants and oversaw the launch of the Legal Test Kitchen, a new concept. Chip also led as the Senior Vice President of Development for Smokey Bones, a former Darden concept.

Earlier in his career, Chip spent 13 years with T.G.I. Fridays where he progressed through various management positions, in Operations, Human Resources and New Business Development.

Dr. JudyAnn Bigby is the Executive Director of South Africa Partners. South Africa Partners, emerging from an antiapartheid organization, connects US and South Africa organizations and resources to incubate, pilot, test and sustain emerging solutions to health and early childhood education challenges in South Africa. Dr. Bigby is a former senior fellow at Mathematica Policy Research where her work focused on evaluation of health policies especially in Medicaid and public health and providing technical assistance to states to improve the quality of care. As a practicing physician, public health advocate, government employee, and policy maker, Bigby has dedicated her career to advancing health care for the most vulnerable populations focusing primarily on the health of minority women and their families and on access to comprehensive health care. Appointed by Governor Deval Patrick, she served as Secretary of Health and Human Services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2007 through January 2013 and was responsible for implementing many of the aspects of the 2006 Massachusetts health care reform law. Prior to her appointment as Secretary, she served as the Director of Community Health Programs at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Women’s Health at Harvard Medical School in Boston. Much of her work focused on eliminating health disparities among low-income and minority women through the redesign of clinical programs, education of health professionals, and community partnerships.

She is a trustee of Wellesley College. She was an inaugural appointee to the President Obama’s Advisory Committee on Prevention, Pubic Health and Integrative Care a committee established in the Affordable Care Act to advise on a national prevention strategy.

She is a graduate of Wellesley College and Harvard Medical School and holds honorary degrees from Lesley University, Pine Manor College, and New England School of Law. She has two grown children and lives in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.

In addition to Managing Director of Roark Capital Group, Steve Romaniello is the Chairman of the Board of FOCUS Brands, the franchisor and operator of more than 4,500 ice cream stores, bakeries, restaurants, and cafes in the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and more than 60 foreign countries under the brand names Carvel, Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, McAlister’s Deli, Schlotzsky’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and the franchisor of Seattle’s Best Coffee on military bases and in certain international markets.

Prior to joining Roark, Steve was Focus Brands president and chief executive officer since 2003. Steve joined Carvel in January 2002 as president of the franchise and foodservice division, and laid the foundation for the strategic turnaround of one of America’s favorite ice cream brands. Once the Carvel system was stabilized, the company was renamed FOCUS Brands to reflect the organization’s long-term vision to become a multi brand franchisor. Under Steve’s direction and with the support of FOCUS Brands’ owner Roark Capital Group, the newly formed organization acquired Cinnabon in 2004, Schlotzsky’s in 2006, and Moe’s Southwest Grill in 2007. Auntie Anne’s joined Focus Brands in 2010 and McAlister’s in 2013.

Prior to accepting the post at Carvel, Romaniello was president and chief operating officer of US Franchise Systems (USFS). Joining at the company’s inception as a senior vice president, Romaniello helped grow USFS from one brand with 27 hotels in nine states to three brands and over 500 hotels open in 47 states and five countries.

Before joining USFS, Romaniello was Holiday Inn Worldwide’s youngest vice president, responsible for franchise services, support, and training for the 1,700 hotels in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean operating under the Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands, as well as franchise sales in the region. During his tenure, Holiday increased its franchise sales from 60 in 1991 to 300 franchises in 1995. From 1988 to 1991, he held various positions with Days Inn of America.

A native of Stamford, CT and a Tufts University graduate, Romaniello is a member of the Board of Directors of Anytime Fitness, Arby’s, Corner Bakery and Il Fornaio Restaurants, Jimmy John’s, Orangetheory, the Culinary Institute of America, and Share our Strength.

Romaniello is the recipient of the IFA’s Ronald E. Harrison Award for his work in the area of Diversity, Nation’s Restaurant News Golden Chain Award, IFMA’s Silver Plate Award, and the former Chairman of the International Franchise Association.

Romaniello resides in Atlanta with his wife Tina and their four children.
