Statement on Support for Ukrainian Citizens

March 1, 2022 Our hearts are heavy watching the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with innocent children and families fearing for their lives and their country’s future, and a looming hunger crisis in the country. We are deploying emergency grants to three current partner organizations that are providing food and humanitarian assistance to Ukrainians caught in the conflict.
  • World Central Kitchen, a group of chefs creating smart solutions to hunger and poverty, is serving hot, nourishing meals at multiple border crossings across the country and supporting local restaurants preparing meals in Odessa and Lviv, two cities in Ukraine. WCK teams are also on the ground in Romania and arriving soon to Moldova, Slovakia, and Hungary to see how they can best support. To learn more or donate, please visit WCK.org.
  • World Food Program USA, a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to building support within the U.S. for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), is supporting the WFP’s efforts to launch a 3-month emergency operation to provide critical food assistance for Ukrainians. They aim to reach 3.1M people affected by the conflict. Ships are already on their way with grains and food to arrive by the end of this week. To learn more or donate, visit WFPUSA.org.
  • Save the Children, a humanitarian aid organization for children, is providing Ukrainian children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance. To learn more or donate, visit SavetheChildren.org.
We encourage our network to learn more about the critical work these three partner organizations are doing. We are keeping the people of Ukraine close in our hearts.
